Be gentle on yourself

Do you push yourself too hard or place unrealistic demands on yourself? I see it all the time – people pushing themselves to the limit and then falling in a heap because of it.

We live in such fast times and the years are literally speeding up – and our “to-do” lists are never ending.

There’s a lot of pressure around us to meet deadlines, expectations and others demands and that’s before we even consider the ones we place on ourselves.

We’re not super human and at the end of the day our health is more important than being a super star.  Sometimes it’s important to just take time out and recognise what we have achieved and how awesome we truly are!

I’m a really big advocate of giving yourself regular breaks and a proper break at least every 3 months.  By this I mean – switching up the energy and breaking your “cycle”.  It might be a night or a weekend away or a planned holiday.  Just do something different – out of the ordinary.

Having a break helps to reset your energy and recharge your batteries.  It’s incredible how amazing you can feel from having a break from your repetitious cycle of life!

When you reset your energy – you end up being way more productive, have greater focus and you’re more inspired and motivated.

So if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, overworked or flat at the moment – try taking a break of some sort.  Be gentle on yourself – take your pedal off the metal and do something nice for yourself that is away from the ordinary.  Mix it up and go and have some fun.

You’ll be amazed at how good you’ll feel afterwards!!  Refreshed, rejuvenated and reset!
